The Patna High Court on Thursday admitted the appeal of Bihar government which had challenged the acquittal of Lalu Prasad and Rabri in the disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The decision was announced by a single-judge bench headed by Justice R K Dutta after hearing the petition filed on behalf of the state government, which challenged the duo’s acquittal in the Rs 46 lakh-DA case by the CBI court. The Special CBI judge Muni Lal Paswan had let off Lalu and Rabri on December 18, 2006, clearing them of all the charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to their known source of income.
