West Indies Players’ Association boss Dinanath Ramnarine has eased concerns that West Indies will be without three of their key batsmen for their home series against Australia starting in May.
Last Friday, Donald Peters, chief executive of the West Indies Cricket Board, disclosed that West Indies captain Chris Gayle, along with former captains Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan may opt to play in the lucrative Indian Premier League instead of facing Australia.
“I am not in authority to give too much details on this matter, but what I can tell you is that the West Indies will have their full strength team available for the Australian series,” Ramnarine said.
“I am aware of the situation with Gayle, Sarwan, and Chanderpaul.”
