Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandrashekhar has escaped unhurt in an accident which took place near Gavimath at Arasikere taluk in Tumkur district on Thursday evening.

The car in which he was travelling, was proceeding towards Shimoga from Bangalore, when a tanker from Banavar collided head-on into his vehicle. He was immediately taken to the Arasikere Government hospital and was given first aid. He took rest at the travellers’ bungalow and later left for Hassan.

His gunman has also received minor injuries and the car has been damaged, the police informed Deccan Herald.
