Guv rebukes critics
Bangalore, DHNS:
Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Saturday rebuked critics of his janata darshan programme, saying he is not conducting it to please anybody nor he has any political motive.

During his weekly janata darshan at Vidhana Soudha he said, it is the responsibility of the Government to address grievances of people and that is what is being done. Janata darshan will continue as long as donars and philanthropists support the Government in extending succour to the poor, he stated.

Jain Heart Care Foundation handed over a Rs 5 lakh cheque to the Governor, as part of its commitment to Government under “Hridaya Spandana to share 50 per cent cost of heart operations for 100 needy patients. “We have decided to give Rs 5 lakh every month for five months,” foundation trustee Mohanlal Ranka said.

The Government is raising funds for nearly 400 heart operations under the scheme. So far, 143 patients were operated at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, the officials added. The Governor and his advisors, P P Prabhu and P K H Tharakan received around 1,098 grievances from the people.
