Dr Gerald Pinto, Mr H J Goveas and Ms Nandini (Stella D’Costa) have been selected for the Konkani Academy Book Award for the year 2007.
According to a press release, the three were selected at the Karnataka State Konkani Sahitya Academy meeting held on March 18 at the Academy premises. While Dr Gerald Pinto won the award for his novel ‘Thisri Thakli,’ Mr H J Goveas was chosen for his short story titled ‘Havn Thuka Bhogsunchin Na’ and Nandini was selected for her poetry titled ‘Tuje Muje Modem.’
The awardees will be felicitated during ‘Konkani Vaibhav’ programme to be held at St Aloysius College IT Auditorium on March 29 at 5 pm. The award consists of Rs 5,000 in cash, a citation and a shawl.
