Oriental Bank of Commerce, a premier public sector bank opened its 1,309th branch at Fr Muller Homeopathic Medical College premises in Deralakatte on Monday.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Bank Executive Director Allen C A Pereira said this is the third branch in Mangalore and 20th in the State.
The bank has 1,309 branches with 79 extension counters and 730 ATMs spread across 26 states and Union territories.
All the branches are inter-connected through Core Banking Solution (CBS).
He said the bank has carried out business of Rs 1.28 lakh so far.
Mr Pereira said the bank has sought permission from the Reserve Bank to open 80 new branches.
New branches will be opened at Bangalore, Ramnagar, Hospet and Shimoga.
