Workshop held
Tiptur, DHNS:

Vegetarian food, specially plant-based, help people to lead a healthy and long life, opined Head of the Medicinal Plant Department of BAIF Rural Development Institute S D Nimbalkar.

He was speaking at a workshop on ‘Protection of Medicinal Plants,’ at the Kalpataru First Grade Science College here recently. The seminar was organised by Ministry of Environment and Forest and Karnataka State Vijnana Parishat. He gave a glimpse of medicinal powers of plants and warned people of eating non vegetarian food. ‘Nobody should function against nature,” he said.

President of Kalpataru Educational Institution N Basavaiah inaugurated the workshop by planting a sapling. He also asked the college staff to take care of the medicinal plants in the college premises.

Principal V G Prakash, Gandhian T A Dasappa, Prof Shibanna, Prof K R Sheshadri, and Prof Vinod Phadke of Science Forum  were present.
