Body of  lawyer found
Tumkur, DHNS: The body of a lawyer, A Lokapala Naik of Pavagada, who was missing since the last one month, was found near Hiriyur on Friday.

Lokapala Naik’s disappearance had caused anxiety among the members of the Pavagada Advocates Association, of which he was a member. The association had demanded a probe and had boycotted the sessions.

They had requested the Superintendent of Police Dr P S Harsha to trace the missing lawyer.

A team led by Harsha launched a search for the missing lawyer and traced his body near Hiriyur.

The police are investigating whether it is a suicide or a case of murder.

Cattle rescued by VHP
Kunigal, dhns: Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishat activists have rescued about 45 cattle, which were allegedly being taken to slaughter houses at Yediyur near here on Thursday. When Bajarang Dal activists waylaid a vehicle they saw cattle being taken to slaughter houses and immediately alerted Amrutur police station. Driver Kalandar has been arrested. With the police support, they freed the cattle and sen t them to ‘goshalas’ in Adichunchanagiri mutt and Siddaganga mutt.
