Tight schedule for Rahul Gandhi
Congress youth leader Rahul Gandhi will be on a tight schedule during his ‘Discover India’ tour in Karnataka from March 25 to 29, and will cover Chamarajnagar, Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli-Dharwad, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Raichur and Bangalore.
According to an itinerary released by the Indian Youth Congress on Friday, Rahul will first visit Vivekanada Tribal centre on B R Hills and interact with the tribals. From there, he will visit Santhemarahalli, Kavalande, Nanjanagudu, Begur, H D Kote and Nagarahole. He may stay at Nagarahole that night. On March 26, he will fly to Mangalore from Nagarahole by helicopter. The same day, at about 6 pm, he will leave for Hubli. On March 27, he will visit Dharwad City NTTF Training Institute and then travel to Gadag, Bagalkot, Badami and Bijapur by road. On March 28, he will visit Kudala Sangama and Raichur. On March 29, he will arrive in Bangalore, said a release.
‘Extend loan
waiver scheme’
Karnataka State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd President M N Rajendra Kumar has addressed a letter to Union Finance and Agriculture Ministers urging to extend the loan waiver scheme to all farm loans falling due by December 31, 2007. He has also sought inclusion of weavers, fishers, self help groups and other agriculture based activities into the scheme. Rajendra Kumar has also urged the State government to release Rs 805.36 crore - including Rs 422.67 crore due under waiver and subsidy schemes, and Rs 104.92 interest subsidy for 2006-07 - to credit cooperative societies of State, before March 31, 2008.
