Security has been tightened around the HAL airport and its funnel areas in wake of AICC General Secretary and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s five-day tour to Karnataka.
A team of Special Protection Group (SPG) would be arriving in the capital with its squad and jammers on Sunday morning and the entire airport premises would be under the surveillance of SPG team from Sunday onwards.
“The SPG team is arriving with all their equipment at 6.30 am on Sunday,” said a top police source.
Around 600 security personnel have been deployed in uniform as well as in mufti around airport and its funnel area.
From Saturday onwards extensive night patrolling would be conducted around airport without leaving any stone unturned.
