Two persons were killed and four others suffered serious injuries in a car-truck mishap at Arikkadi near Kumble in Kasargod district on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Ibrahim (32) and Hunnath Beevi (22), both residents of Ichlangodu near Kumble. Both died when they were being rushed to a hospital in Mangalore.

According to the police, the truck carrying tar was moving towards Kasargod while the car was moving in the opposite direction when the mishap occurred. Among the injured, two have been shifted to hospital in Mangalore while one woman has been admitted to Kasargod hospital.

The traffic movement was disrupted for sometime on the highway following the mishap. Kumble police have registered a case.
