Govt thinking over Rahul Gandhi's proposal
DH News Service, Kolar:

AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi recently spoke at the parliament to extend the loan waving scheme which currently covers farmers who own 2 to 5 hectares to farmers who own up to 10 acres.

The government is seriously thinking over the suggestion given by Rahul Gandhi, said Union Minister for Surface Transportation K H Muniyappa here on Saturday.

Speaking to the reporters, he said that banks are working over the Loan wavier scheme  of the Union Government and by the end of the June farmers will receive the Loan Waiver certificate from the banks.

Muniyappa said that banks are in a process of giving fresh loans to the farmers who are the beneficiaries of the loan waiver scheme. If big farmers clear the loans in a single attempt according to the Central governments scheme they get a rebate of 25 per cent on the loan amount, he added.

Speaking about the S M Krishna entry in to the active politics he said Congress in Karnataka is strengthened and will face the election under the leadership of Mallikarjuna Kharge and Siddaramaiah and will definately gain majority in the forth coming elections.

Muniyappa expressed that the arrival of M P Prakash, former Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Lingayat community as further strengthened the party and many leaders from other parties are expected to join the party in another few days.
