He was speaking to reporters after a preliminary meeting, ahead of the party’s women’s convention in the City on Tuesday.
“Though the Centre and the Ministry of Forests have not approved the project, the foundation stone has already been laid. This is the result of the conspiracy by the State Congress leaders,” Yeddyurappa said and challenged them to protest against the “injustice” at the Centre.
“Hogenekal has been a disputed area for long. Both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu had agreed to a joint survey to decide the demarcation of boundaries. But now, Tamil Nadu has broken the agreement and has started the project,” the former CM said.
“Tamil Nadu prevents Karnataka from taking up any such project in the Cauvery basin, but is itself going ahead with the irrigation project in Hogenekal, and this is not right,” Yeddyurappa said.
