Youth Congress gets tech savvy
DH News Service, Bangalore:

The State Unit of Indian Youth Congress has gone hi-tech to enroll new members. Those who now wish to join the party can either call their call centre, send an sms or an e-mail. The calls will be followed up and registration process will be completed.

According to State Youth Congress President, Krishna Byregowda, eight lines have been provided to the call centre which works between 9 am and 7pm. Those below 35 years can call on 40640640 to register their names.

To send an SMS first key IYC and then 5676743. To send an email to register yourself the address is members@indianyouthcongress.in .

In addition, membership forms will be also available at Youth Congress rallies.

Krishna says that the idea of setting up call centres was inspired by AICC General Secretary in-charge of Youth Congress, Rahul Gandhi. “This novel idea has been introduced for the first time in the country and the national unit wants to introduce this all over the country,” he said.

Over six lakh members have registered so far and they intend to enrol another ten lakh members.
