Eminent educationist and the director of IIIT Bangalore Prof S Sadagopan has asked the Chartered Accountants to be at the driver’s seat and lead India as a destination for learning accountancy.
He was addressing a gathering during the 20th annual conference of Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association (KSCAA) at the Nimhans convention hall on Saturday. Sadagopan asked the Chartered Accountants to rejuvenate the profession making it attractive so that their children could also think of pursuing accountancy.
Hailing the chartered accountants for their discipline and ethical values, he said there is still scope to practice ethical business values. Prof Sadagopan emphasised upon the need for introducing IT and latest information technologies to take the profession to new heights so that others should follow it. “Why you people should approach IT experts to prepare a software for you when you have a great potential to develop programmes for yourself,” he asked.
