The Vijaynagar police reportedly took five persons into custody on charges of cheating students by selling fake question papers of the ongoing PUC second year examination on Sunday afternoon.
The prime accused has been identified as C Somashekhar, while the names and details of the other four are not available. “We had an information that question papers are being sold. We immediately alerted the police and zeroed in on Somashekhar. He claimed himself to be a teacher of a corporation school. He used to charge Rs 15,000 per question paper. He was carrying out the activity with the help of four agents. After getting the money, he used to give the fake question papers. His objectives seems to be of making money. How much money he has earned through this is yet to be ascertained,” PU Board Commissioner S G Hegde told Deccan Herald.
