'Globalisation destroying values'
DH News Service, Madhugiri:
Former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Professor M L Narasimhamurthy regretted that globalization has been attracting educated people from villages who are carried away by the whims and fancies of cities and this has been disturbing the values of life.

He was speaking after inaugurating the valedictory function of  sports and NSS at the government degree college in Puravara. He said that sports is a very important part in every student’s life, it has its own important role. He also called for much involvement in NSS activities.

Prominent guest P Kodirangappa, professor at Chikkaballapura Municipal B Ed college,  said that many students from villages hail from low societal and economic background families due to which they are unable to pursue education.

In such a situation, it is the duty of the children to fulfiil the wish of their parents and come up in life, he added.

Principal K Krishnaswami  who delivered the keynote address said that, every year the students’ strength has been increasing and the college has been obtaining good results. He said that there is shortage of classrooms and talks have been going on with regard to the issue with the government.

APMC’s Former Vice President Basavaraju, Gram Panchayat President M Kupendra also addressed the gathering. SDMC President Tailor Siddappa presided over the function.
