Police harassment alleged
The Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samithi (KDSS) has sought stern action against the Talghattapura police for allegedly harassing a youth without any reason.
Addressing reporters here on Monday, KDSS State general secretary Mavalli Shankar alleged the police recently took Muzeeb (25), a resident of Talghattapura, into custody for no reason. They took out the boy to Guglal village and directed him to disclose whereabouts of his father-in-law. The police, he said, beat him up when the boy told them he had no father-in-law. The police stamped the boy’s thumb with boots and urinated on his injured thumb, he alleged.
