Call to inculcate values in students
DH News Service, Tiptur:

Schools should not become factories churning out students who know only how to read and write. Schools should also become a place where values are inculcated into students, said the President of the committee for biodiversity conservation Dr Sanjay.

During the inauguration of the annual day function of the Government School at Nonavinakere hobali Machaghatta Ballikere Dr Sanjay said that education should inculcate humbleness. We need to stress on the importance of our culture, art, patriotism, environment and health, he added.

President of Bajaguru Grama Panchayat Premakumari inaugurated the function.

She expressed joy over the fact that even government schools have now started teaching English at an early stage. Quoting Kuvempu, chief guest DySP Mahadevaiah suggested to the students ‘to be a human first.’ A E O Honappa from Suguru cluster, Dr K M Muniappa, Srinivasa Reddy, Artistes Anjanappa and B N Shanmuga, Taluk panchayat member Govindappa, C R P Somashekhar and others were present. SDMC President B S Shankarappa presided over the function. M S Beluregowda welcomed the gathering and Kumar proposed vote of thanks.
