An angry mob went on a rampage in Kheragarh town of Agra, burning down a police station and setting ablaze some vehicles after Chairman of Nagar Panchayat clashed with police over its alleged failure to take action against some youths, police sources said on Monday.

The Chairman of Nagar Panchayat Anil Garg had reportedly handed over four drunken youths involved in some violence in the town to the police.

Police had allegedly let them off which angered Garg and his supporters.

Clashes broke out and the situation got out of control with Anil Garg’s supporters setting ablaze the police station and some vehicles parked outside the station.
