Polls may hit Youth Games
New Delhi, Agencies:
The inaugural National Youth Games, scheduled in Bangalore from May 10-18, could be rescheduled if it coincides with the State assembly elections, according to the Indian Olympic Association.

"As of now, the schedule is that the National Youth Games will be held in May. If state assembly elections are held at that time, we have to reschedule it," IOA secretary-general Randhir Singh said.

Everything depends on the dates of the elections. Once the dates are announced, a final decision will be taken on the dates of the Youth Games.

More than 6000 athletes are expected to take part in 24 disciplines in the Games.

The disciplines are archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing (boys), cycling, equestrian, football, fencing, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, kho-kho, tennis, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling (boys). Sportspersons born on or after January 1, 1990 are eligible to take part in the event.

i dont understand why our country sports authroity is depend on the politices.

do they change their dates because of pride and prestige of youth games,

the attitude on the authroties is not strong they are depend on politices,

this is what is though in india and every thing is postponed in front of politices,

the condomen the authorities for postponing the youth games, its sending wrong signals

its bad that the authorities are depend on political situtation to conduct the youth games,

let the election go on its ways and the comming youth let them keep progressing in the respective sports,
only then we can build a world class sports person in india,

its bad to see that the future youth will have conclussion that their talented is going waste , because of sports authority and board are depend on the politices clearence to develop their strong and healthy youth india.

shame
