Harish Sachdev, father of the slain Rinku Sachdev Bhudiraj, on Tuesday alleged his son-in-law Amit Bhudiraj had planned his daughter’s murder well and executed it properly. Amit had left behind a suicide note only to save himself and his family members from police harassment, he alleged.

Addressing reporters here on Tuesday, he termed Amit as a person with an unstable mind and hence resorted to such a barbaric act of killing his wife.

Said Harish, “My daughter visited me in Muscat two weeks ago and told me her marriage was not working well despite her best efforts. The couple had even consulted a marriage counsellor. Before coming to Muscat, Rinku contacted Amit’s sister and asked her to talk to Amit to sort out differences.”

He said, “Rinku even told me the couple had mutually agreed to take a divorce. But despite the agreement, she still wanted to make extra efforts to sustain the relationship. She told me Amit mentally tortured her. He had stopped communicating with her and used to argue with her over petty issues.”

Rinku’s uncle S P Gulath said it was Rinku who used to bear most of the expenses of Amit.

He had made baseless allegations against his wife in the suicide note, he claimed.
