Addressing the consumers he said that under this scheme there are 30 calls are allowed free every month and every additional call will be charged at 80 paise per call. There will be no establishment cost and advance payment under this scheme, he added.
He said that under another scheme on a deposit of Rs 300, customers can avail free incoming service for two years with 75 free calls and Re 1 for every additional call. Both these schemes will be valid up to March 31.
Arrangements will be made for the payment of telephone bills through bank and also facilitate payment of bills through cheques and DDS. Arrangements are being made to appoint direct agents in the town for the sale of BSNL products like currency and recharge coupons. To solve network problems four towers will be installed within three months and steps will be taken to provide better service than private operators, he added. Customers grievances at the meeting included delay in fault repair and need for a 24 hour bill payment service.
