Addressing reporters here at Patrakartara Bhavan, he said this convention aimed at strengthening the Nayaka community and also the people in the community to improve their financial, social and educational conditions besides trying to bring about an awareness regarding their political stature.
As other states in the country are reserving 7.5 per cent for the Nayaka community, they would also hold a massive rally at the State level to urge the government to implement the same system here also, he said.
The people from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu would also attend the convention. On that day a procession of Valmiki Prasanna swami would be taken out on the main streets in the town. Later, the convention would be held at the TMC grounds. Valmiki Prasanna swami will grace the occasion, he said.
State unit president H R Shivakumar will preside. M N S printers owner M Narayanswamy will inaugurate the convention, said Shivakumar. Guru peetha president and former minister Satish Jharkiholi will unveil the portrait of Valmiki.
