Conservation of our rich biodiversity is our responsibility, but due to man’s selfishness, lakhs of species of animals are becoming extinct, senior litterateur Prof M L Narasimha Murthy regretted. He was inaugurating the Biodiversity Conservation National Environment Awareness Revolution programme organised by the Kumudavati Grameena Abhivruddhi Samsthe, in DV Halli, Madhugiri taluk.
Edge of survival
The writer said that several species are on the edge of survival, and the earth is turning into a graveyard.
“Different species are inter-dependent. Earth, water, air, are all essential, and the future of all species is in there,” he said.
Resource person, lecturer Govindaraju said that man's greed is the cause of environmental pollution.
Women’s Liberation and Rehabilitation Association director D N Venugopal, and headmaster Narasimha Murthy spoke on the occasion. Taluk Panchayat member Manjunath was also present.
