‘Summit Talks At What Price?’
Washington, Mar 25.
American Secretary of State Dulles declared today that the Soviet Union was trying to exact a terribly high “political price” as a condition for a summit conference. He told a press conference he believed that price tag was too high and Soviet temper harsh.
Mr Dulles expressed the view that the latest Soviet note on the summit conference handed over yesterday had not advanced the prospects of a summit meeting.
City Water Famine Raised In Houses
Bangalore, Mar 23.
The acute water scarcity the city has been facing for the last four days, was the subject of an adjournment motion in the State Assembly, which was disallowed after an explanation given on behalf of Government. Public Works Minister H K Veeranna Gowda said that the breakdown in city’s water supply was due to bursting of the pipe line carrying water from Thippegondanally.

Anti-Defection Bill Introduced

The Karnataka State Legislature Anti-Defection Bill, introduced in the Assembly today, seeks to deprive members who change their party affiliation after the election, of their rights of voting and sitting in the House.
The Bill introduced by Law Minister A Lakshmisagar, however, does not come in the way of Independents joining any party after their election.
