Shaukath bowls Lions to semis

Shaukath Ali took five for 22 as Young Lions CC defeated Wilson Garden CC by 68 runs to reach the semifinals of the KSCA Group I DIvision V tournament for the JB Mallaradhya Trophy.

Brief scores: Young Lions Club: 212 all out in 49.3 overs (Imanuel Vasanth 35, Gopinath 40; Naresh 5-83, Santosh 2-11) bt Wilson Garden CC: 144 all out in 36.3 overs (Hanumanthraju 29; D Santhosh 2-52, Shaukath Ali 5-22).

Blue Diamond Cricketers: 125 all out in 26.2 overs (Sreenivas 43, Varun 35; Ranganath 5-34, R Tanu 2-41, Jayachandra 2-36) lt to Deccan United Cricket Club: 129/4 in 28.4 overs (B Tanu 27).

Hammonds Cricket Club: 209/9 in 37 overs (J Surendra 69, Devraj Koti 33, RT Srikanth 30; Hemanth 2-48, BT Satish 2-43, S Abhishek 2-40) bt Sri Jayachamarajendra CC: 190 all out in 36.4 overs (N Shashidhar 39; Pawan 3-65, Shiva Kumar 6-44).

Vikram Cricket Club: 245 all out in 45.3 overs (Sanjith 79, Sunil 54; Yogesh 5-55, Manjunath 3-15) bt SSK Cricket Club: 147 all out in 33.3 overs (Venkat 3-63, Pradeep 2-21, Sandeep 2-10).

Three from State in coaches clinic

Left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi, Sadananad Vishwanath and Raghuram Bhat will be part of a refresher course for Level III coaches which is in progress here at the National Cricket Academy. 27 coaches will take part in the three-day course.

State-ranking junior TT

Entertainment Between Friends (EBF) will conduct the second Junior State-ranking table tennis tournament from May 1-4 in cadet, sub-junior and junior categories. The last date for receipt of entries is April 25 by 7.00 pm.

Bodybuilding team announced

The Karnataka State Bodybuilding Association has announced the men’s team to take part in the 47th senior National bodybuilding championship, to be held in Meerut from March 28 to 30.

Team: Mohan Hebballi (55kg), Rudra Mani (60kg), Nasir (65kg), Veeranna M (65kg), Nafeez (70kg), Naveen Bhat (75kg), Sheik Abdul Riyaz (75kg), Santhosh (80kg), Shivshankar (80kg), Gokul Das (85kg), Pranay R Shetty (90kg), Srikanth (90kg), Yogesh (90+kg). Chef-de-mission: Bette Gowda. Coach: Tanveer Ahmed Khan. Manager: Manak Lal.
