Archumen and Bending Moment are organised as four-zone events culminating in a National Finale. The Grand Finale of Archumen 07- 08 is being hosted by d line and Ethos at The Capitol Hotel on the 28th of March 2008 at 5:00 PM. This would be preceded by The Southern Interface. Events for Bending Moment hosted by TATA TISCON and Ethos will be held at Jawahar Bal Bhavan on the 29th of March 2008 at 4:30 PM. All the colleges that offer architecture & civil engineering from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will battle it out for the top spots in the South. Ethos has already received registrations from Salem, Hosur, Davangere, Chennai, Vizag, Hyderabad, Kancheepuram, Kilakarai, Calicut besides Bangalore. The top two teams will get a chance to compete with the best in the country at the Grand Finale to be held in Bangalore on the same days. The other teams that have qualified for the Grand Finale of Archumen from the other regions are Sinhgad College of Architecture, Pune, Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur, IIT Roorkee, Jadavpur University and CET Bhubaneswar. The teams that have qualified from the other regions of Bending Moment are College of Engg. Pune, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee and Jadavpur University.

The quiz master Giri – “Pickbrain” Balasubramaniam well known in the quizzing fraternity amongst the students will be the quiz host.

Archumen is also being actively supported by the Indian Institute of Architects through its Young Architects Committee.

Archumen has been all this and more for hundreds of students of Architecture across India for the last five years. Archumen began its journey at the Town Hall in Kolkata on November 9th 2002 when a group of students, architects and the general public gathered to witness the first episode of India’s first National Quiz on Architecture. Archumen has come a long way since then. It has now become a popular event with the architectural student community and is a part of their annual calendar.

With an intention of bridging the gap between the communities of architects and civil engineers, Ethos launched Bending Moment, last year – A National Quiz on Civil Engineering. In its year of inception itself, it proved to be a runaway success with the students of civil engineering across the country.

It is encouraging that companies such as d line, TATA TISCON, Nerolac, Bell Ceramics Limited, Autodesk and BCIL have recognized the importance of harnessing young talent and have come forward to associate with this cerebral event for students.

The cash prize for the National Champions in each of the events is Rs.25000/-. The National runners-up get Rs.15000/- and the second runners-up will win for themselves Rs.10000/-. The regional winners will receive Rs.5000/-, the runners-up Rs.3000/- and the second runners-up Rs.2000/-.
