Call me Rahul

Sun shines for Rahul
The week long rains stopped only on Tuesday and perhaps Wednesday was the only clear day in the week without any rains or clouds, bringing a sigh of relief for the Congress leaders. Interestingly, soon after Mr Rahul Gandhi left for Hubli in the evening, thick clouds cast over Mangalore. Perhaps the sun shined only for Rahul, a Cong worker said.

Future PM in few moments...
As Mr Rahul Gandhi’s arrival was delayed by more than 90 minutes, one of the NSUI office-bearer on the stage was repeatedly announcing: “The future prime minister will be here any moment...” In fact, he repeated the sentence more than a dozen times.

Pass holders don’t turn up
Though the NSUI had issued 1,700 passes to students, hundreds of students either did not turn up or left the venue after they learnt that Mr Gandhi will be arriving late. As the organisers learnt that there were several empty chairs, they started requesting the police to allow the students with their college ID cards. In fact, they succeeded too.

Call me Rahul
When the students started addressing Mr Rahul Gandhi as “sir,” Mr Gandhi told the students that he was only a few years elder to them and he preferred them calling him by name. “I feel like a professor when you call me sir, which I don’t like. Please call me Rahul...”

SPG or LPG?
When the media men were stopped by the Special Protection Group (SPG) for not allowing them to the venue of Mr Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with fishermen at Urwa church hall, the media men staged a snap stir in front of the gate and started shouting slogans against SPG “Down Down SPG.” However, an elderly lady was heard saying: “These people are protesting for a cause... I can understand how difficult it is to get LPG (cylinder) these days...”
