Food Production And Co-ordination

Union Minister S K Patil, who will soon relinqush the Irrigation and Power portfolio and take up Transport and Communications, was highly critical in the Lok Sabha today  while replying to the demands for grants about the lack of co-ordination between the different Ministries and authorities that were supposed to deal with food production.

US Distorting Facts, Alleges Russia
New York, Mar 26.
The Soviet mission to the UN said in a statement issued yesterday that recent reports in the US press “misrepresent the position of the Soviet Union on the re-convening of disarmament negotiations.”
These reports were based on what a State Department spokesman on March 10, said.

‘Southern CMs’ Meet Non-Political’

Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde told the Assembly today that his sponsoring of the four Southern Chief Ministers’ summit and its outcome were not politically motivated. He, however, said the setting up of the Sarkaria Commission by the Centre to examine afresh Centre – State relations was the direct outcome of the summit.
