New rocket for space tourism
A California aerospace company plans to enter the space tourism industry with a two-seat rocket ship capable of suborbital flights to altitudes more than 59.5 kilometres above the Earth, AP reports from Los Angeles.
The Lynx, about the size of a small private plane, is expected to begin flying in 2010, according to developer Xcor Aerospace.
Powered by clean-burning, fully reusable, liquid-fuel engines, the Lynx is expected to be capable of making several flights a day.

UAE gets its first female judge

Kholoud Ahmed Juwan Al Dhahiri has been appointed a primary judge at the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department following a decree by United Arab Emirates (UAE) President and Abu Dhabi Ruler Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, becoming the first female judge here, IANS reports from Abu Dhabi.

Pak filmmaker wins Emmy

A Pakistani filmmaker has won the student Emmy award for her film on an Indian Muslim woman’s struggle to break into the American political system, PTI reports from Islamabad.
