The JD(S) has already held first round of talks with Samajwadi Party (SP) for a pre-poll alliance in the State, the party State unit President Merajuddin Patel disclosed on Wednesday.
He told reporters here that both parties are working out details on seat sharing and the final result of the talks will be made public soon. SP State President S Bangarappa had recently expressed his interest in having a pact with the JD(S).
Patel further said the party is banking on 20-months performance of H D Kumaraswamy as the CM. “We will seek vote based on Kumaraswamy’s performance,” he claimed.
Asked why the party is not projecting him as the CM candidate despite hailing from the minority community, Patel said: “I myself proposed Kumaraswamy’s name as the party’s CM candidate.”
