Music release

Baa maleye baa, asthu birusagi baradiru, nanna nalle baralagadante... sounds familiar? Yes, it is one of the most popular poems penned by B R Lakshman, and will now feature in one of the most awaited releases of the year Accident.

A preview of the song, picturised on actor Ramesh Arvind was shown at the music launch of the movie recently. Live performances by Kunal Ganjawala, Chaitra and debutant Avinash Chabbi, who has sung Friendship... a foot-tapping number in the movie, were also a part of the launch. Trailors and songs were also shown to the audience.

A laser show, for which film’s music director Ricky Kej had composed the  music was the highlight. The movie has five songs and they have been shot mostly in Goa, Shimsha and Ramnagar.

“World music” is how Ricky Kej, a first-time music director terms his creations. “If there is a song that comes with a classical touch, there is also one with a rap feel and an item song. Also I have used a lot of instruments such as the pizzicato, strings, sarangi, synthesisers and the veena,” he says.

The lanky debutant not wanting to take the entire credit for the fete, says, “Ramesh sir gave me a free hand and this went a long way in making good music.

Tips from Kunal and Sonu Nigam, who have sung in the movie also helped.” Ramesh is all praise for his new find too. “With Ricky I’ve hit gold,” he says.

Talking about the movie, he says, “I hope it does well. I’ve come out of my comfort zone -comedy - and tried to do something different.” The movie stars Pooja Gandhi, Rekha, Tilak, Sudha Rani and Ramesh among others and is slated for an April 4 release.
