Minerva blank New Lucky Star

A brace by Kishore propelled Minerva to a 2-0 win over New Lucky Star in the BDFA ‘C’ Division knock-out tournament on Monday.

Kishore opened the account in the 12th minute and then he sealed the match with a strike in the 51st minute.

Other result: Bangalore Mars 2 (Praveen 41st, 46th) bt Young Muslims 1 (Santosh 19th).

Spin of coin favours RNSIT

After a thrilling tie, RNSIT got lucky with the spin of coin to emerge champion in the South Zone inter-collegiate tournament held at the AMC Engineering College on Saturday.

Batting first, BMS College of Engineering managed to put on a competitive 193 all out in 38.2 overs. In reply, RNSIT too finished their innings at 193 all out in 39.3 overs. When the winner had to be decided by toss, lady luck favoured RNSIT.

BMS CE: 193 all out in 38.2 overs (Karan Rao 34, Manish 38, Tarun Muttanna 25, Sudhindra Pai 29; Sandeep Partil 2-43, Nikhil Kashyap 3-26) lt to RNSIT: 193 all out in 39.3 overs (Maharshi 40; Prashant Pandey 2-35, Sudhindra 3-31, Rahul 3-39) by spin of coin.

ANZ clinch Platinum Cup

ANZ outplayed Fidelity 5-0 in the final to lift the Platinum Cup corporate football tournament, conducted by Roots Sports at the PESIT grounds.

Bronze Cup: Accudoc: 3 (Derrick, Joseph, Axle) bt Symphony: 1 (Rohith).
Silver Cup: Genpact: 2 (Biswajit, Mahesh) bt Citrix: 1 (Apoorv).
Gold Cup: Mind Tree: 2 (Richard (2)) bt Aviva: 0.
Platinum Cup: ANZ: 5 (Rahul Das, Sudhendra (2), Avinash (2)) bt Fidelity: 0.

Jet Airways triumph

Jet Airways trounced CLI3L 7-1 in the summit clash to emerge champions in the Star Kingfisher Football Cup corporate football tournament at the Mount Carmel College.

Results:
Final: Jet Airways: 7 (Rakesh (3), Karan (3), Suresh) bt CLI3L: 1 (Ramesh).
Third place play-off: Wipro: 3 (Jomy John, Arnoj Saha (2)) bt Grand Ashoka: 1 (Venkatachala).

Ladies golf tournament

Bangalore Golf Club will organise a ladies golf tournament on March 6. The event is being conducted to commemorate  World Women’s Day falling on March 8.
