The new offerings, Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008, help customers drive greater business continuity with improved security, enable innovation while controlling costs, and empower people to make better decisions with data, it claimed.

Briefing reporters here, Senior Vice President S Somasegar, said the new offerings being rolled out came with improved security and would enable enterprises pursue innovation while controlling costs and aid customers in making better decisions with data.
The three products, which will deliver better web, virtualisation and enhanced business intelligence capabilities, he said, were part of Microsoft’s Dynamic IT initiative, wherein core IT infrastructure and application infrastructure technologies easily adapt to changing business conditions. According to Chief Operating Officer Doug Hauger these key products were part of Microsoft’s strategy to promote greater interoperability, opportunity and choice for customers as also developers across the spectrum.
He pointed out that these products were a culmination of having worked with more than 1,000 global partners who helped to plan, build, test and deploy these solutions through early access to code, training & testing and certification support.
Microsoft India Development Centre at Hyderabad has played a key role in the development of each of these products. The Windows core server team at MSIDC completely owned the development of the gateway and licensing components in terminal services for Windows Server 2008, he said.
