Graduation day
The class 10 students of Deva Matha Central School of 2007-08 batch had their Annual Graduation Day recently. Latha Mathew, the principal of the school, gave an insight into the activities of the students and the remarkable strides they have made during their tenure at the school.
Calling upon parents to encourage the wards to dream, she said it is not often that teachers get the opportunity to talk to the parents and their children on a single platform on what the children need.
The chief guest, Prof V B Coutinho, former Vice-Chancellor of Gulbarga University said, “allow the young ones to dream and follow what they aspire to do without coming in the way. Many of you would have loved to have engineers, doctors and all paying careers, but let it come from them,’’ he advised.

Annual day

Hindustan Academy at Marathahalli, one of the premier aviation institutes in the city, celebrated its annual day on March 4. Dr Krishna Das Nair, ex-chairman of HAL presided over the function. While addressing the gathering Dr Nair emphasised that the students should work with a high degree of integrity, dedication and professionalism. ``This should continue even when they join the industry on completion of their studies.’’ He noted that Singapore Airlines regularly enroll students from Hindustan Academy due to the high quality training imparted to the students by the dedicated staff of the academy. The annual day celebrations ended with a gala cultural programme with the academy students entertaining the large audience with their multifaceted talent.
