Study on self regulation mooted
Take the corporate path, FM to brokers  
Finance Minister P Chidambaram, on Thursday, exhorted stock brokers to corporatise their business to compete successfully with global players in the domestic as well as overseas capital markets.
Chidambaram bats for softer home loan rates  
Finance Minister P Chidambaram, on Thursday, suggested that interest rates should be lowered for borrowers seeking housing loans to an extent of Rs 20 lakh as risk rates on such loans are bare minimum.
Stay invested for long term  
"The idea is because of volatility in the market, we must encourage investors to stay invested for longer term, and I am doing precisely that by raising short term capital gains tax from 10 to 15 per cent," P Chidambaram observed.
Exporters sops cut by Rs 600 cr  
As against revised estimates of Rs 1,594 crore for 2007-08, export subsidy has been reduced to Rs 1,294 crore for 2008-09.
Bosch Ltd reports net of Rs 609.2 cr in 2007  
Bosch Ltd, flagship of Bosch Group in India, reported a 11 per cent rise in its profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 609.2 crore, as against Rs 548 crore in the previous year.
