Free food court
There was also a food court opened for the thousands of devotees who had come to attend the Nandi fair.
The adage that distribution of free food is one of the man’s most sacred task has been followed here for the last 14 years.
The free food is distributed without discrimination of caste, creed or religion and the committee has worked hard for the last one month for this ritual.
More than 8,000 people had food in this fair. As it was not possible to serve everyone on the table or on the floor, a buffet system was followed.
The uniqueness here is that everyone came forward voluntarily to donate money for preparing food. The money that is saved after spending on the food items is kept in a bank account in a fixed deposit.
Already there is Rs 90,000 in this fixed deposit and the interest that is got from this is used for free feeding.
Every year after the fair, account is presented to the public and the donors.
