The international fashion magazine ELLE organised ‘A Carnival for a Cause’ to spread awareness about breast cancer and raise funds to aid the Women’s Cancer Initiative recently in the City.
The carnival featured several fun activities like tarot-reading, massages, fortune-telling, innovative games like can cancer and target cancer, hoopla and basketball. The guest DJs set the beat to the fundraiser.
‘Fashion Joins Hands Against Breast Cancer’ is the initiative to work with members of the fashion fraternity to create affordable lines of clothing and accessories which will be retailed exclusively through the carnivals. There was also a silent auction featuring designer merchandise from international brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Cartier, Christian Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo, Ermenegildo Zegna, Tag Heuer, Burberry, Moschino, Hugo Boss and Tod's.
‘A Carnival for a Cause’ was a unique way to raise funds since the designer-wear is affordably priced between Rs 500 and Rs 5,000 enabling a wider audience to contribute and be a part of the initiative.
