Human values should be given the highest priority in life, advised former vice-president of the Zilla Panchayat M S Mallikarjunaiah.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the ten-day NSS annual camp of the Government First Grade College in Midigeshi village of Madhugiri taluk, recently.
Earning a fat salary should not be the sole ambition of the students, they should also contribute their services to the society. They should have role models before them, who have contributed to the land, State, art and literature, to draw inspiration, Mr Mallikarjunaiah explained.
Tumkur Milk Federation Director B Nageshbabu, who was the chief guest on the occasion, advised the students to cultivate qualities like discipline, honesty, punctuality, etc. The NSS camps helped in imparting training in such qualities, which contribute towards the overall development of the society.
The students should make use of such opportunities and groom themselves into some of the best citizens of the society.
Principal Prof Sayyed Basha presided over the function. Gram Panchayat President Nagarajayya, Gram Panchayat member S N Raju, contractor M S Manjunath and others were present on the occasion. Lecturer in Kannada Bandrehallikumar compered the programme.
