Noon pins on arms to win Kashmir
Karachi, March 8.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Malik Firoz Khan Noon said here today: “Freedom of Kashmir is won only through our strength and we should build up our military strength at all costs”.
Mr Noon was replying to a debate on demands for grants for Ministry of Kashmir Affairs in the National Assembly. He said Pakistan may have to revise her foreign policy depending on the outcome of the Kashmir dispute.
‘Can’t solve issues by public debate’

Mr Ellsworth Bunker, the US Ambassador in India, said here today that US was willing to participate in a summit conference, provided there was “adequate preparations.”
Bunker explained that in the light of the correspondence between President Eisenhower and Mr Bulganin, it was clear that their respective stands required further exploration.
He said, “We ought to use diplomacy to which it is intended. I do not think we can revolve any questions with public debate.”

Breakthrough on Afghanistan

After a day-long tussle at reconciling the contradictory positions of Pakistan and Afghanistan over the non-aligned approach to the Afghan crisis, a ten-nation working group of the political committee today cleared a path through the thicket and produced a compromise formula acceptable to the two countries and India. The group comprised Yugoslavia, Guyana, India, Algeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Cuba, Seregal, Iran and Grenada.
