Ex-minister held for code violation

Gangavati, dhns:   Former minister and JD(S) candidate Iqbal Ansari was arrested on Thursday night for poll code violation.

Ansari was later released on bail.  He was arrested for using more flags on the campaign vehicle. He was arrested around 1130 pm and this is the second case that has been registered against Ansari after the poll process began.

Cop on poll duty dies of heart attack

Belur, dhns:  A Central Reserve Police Force cop on poll duty died of heart attack at Belur on Friday.

Mangilal (45), who was from Shyalia village in Chittorgarh village in Rajasthan, complained of giddiness around 545pm .

Mangilal was rushed to a local hospital and doctors advised that he be shifted to Hassan for treatment. However, the policeman died on way to the hospital.
