“We’ve done our homework and we will not take any chances in ensuring free and fair elections, Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao has said.
Mr Rao told reporters here that Bommanahalli, Chickpet, BTM Layout, Padmanabha Nagar, Mahalaxmi Layout, KR Puram and Rajajinagar have been declared hyper-sensitive.
Thirteen thousand security personnel will be on election duty. Besides revenue officers, 600 mobile police patrol vehicles will keep a vigil at 5,685 booths. They will be visiting each booths every 10-15 minutes to oversee security arrangements.
Apart from the City police, para military, Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and Home Guards will be posted at the sensitive points, Me Rao said.
Those trying to misguide voters or indulging in bogus voting will be dealt with seriously, he warned.
More than 1,000 people have been rounded up and goods (sarees, TVs, etc) worth Rs 80 lakh seized.
