In a complaint to the Kora police, it is said that a 12 member group had attacked him in Sorekunte village in Tumkur rural constituency limits.
Kamaraju has identified those who had attacked him and their names have been mentioned in the complaint. He has now recovered and several leaders visited him in the hospital on Friday.
Assault condemned
The attack on district JD(S) general secretary R Kamaraj has been strongly condemned by the party spokesperson H Mallikarjun.
A few miscreants who were unable to bear his progress have indulged in the attack. The police should take suitable action against the culprits, he urged.
JD(S) candidate H Ningappa had done many development works in his constituency and his victory was certain this time, he said in a release.
Ningappa who is popular as Ajata Shatru has undertaken development works worth hundreds of crores.
Including getting the campus for Tumkur university he has done many other works for the constituency, and hence he should be elected, he said in the release.
