There are a total number of 18, 37,942 eligible voters in the district including 9,34,208 men and 9,03,734 women.
In Tumkur City constituency there are a total of 1,94,546 including 99,546 men and 95,000 voters. In Tiptur assembly constituency there are a total of 1,52,619 voters including 76,712 men and 75,907 women voters.
The Election Commission has already declared Madhugiri assembly constituency as hypersensitive. Some booths in Pavagada, Tumkur City, Tumkur Rural have been declared as sensitive by the Election Commission. All preparations have been made for a peaceful election. There are 2,152 polling booths in 11 assembly constituency of which 602 are hypersensitive. As many as 3,557 police personnel have been deputy on election duty.
As many as 22 central platoons including two platoons of CISF, 4 platoons of BSF, two platoons of RPF and five platoons each of MPSAAF, UPSF, four platoons of CRPF have been deputed besides 11 KSRP platoons and 10 district armed reserve police.
