Honeymoon in style!
Women exhaust a reservoir of energy shopping for their bridal trousseau and end up looked tired and deflated before the honeymoon. Meera Seshadri tells the newly-married lady how to have a haute honeymoon

A marriage happens to be the most important and memorable event in every woman’s life, wherein she'd love to look her magnificent best. Hence, she exhausts a reservoir of time and  energy in shopping for the bridal trousseau. But surprisingly, when it comes to planning for the honeymoon wear, many gals get totally disoriented, making random shopping at the eleventh hour. Thanks to all those elaborate wedding rituals, some even end up looking like deflated pool-rafts by the time they embark on their journey to honeymoon! Well, all that's needed is a whit of prior planning to help you stay more organised and also to look hep n' haute all through your honeymoon jaunt.

First and foremost, while you're shopping for your trousseau, remember to buy yourself some squeaky-clean set of chic n' casual clothes. Invest in an inviting pair of jeans along with some breezy tees. No! Not those jeans with rips n' rents! For, your grungy look may act counter-productive in seducing your man! Even swishy skirts with elegantly tailored tops would do. If you prefer sporting salwars, then go for those sensuous skin-clinging ones with scooped necklines.

Also, never forget  to shop for a pair of natty nighties in monochromatic tones with lovely laces and satin ribbons. Go in for pleasant palettes like pearl pink, fuchsia, buttercup yellow, etc. And, do peer into the innerwear segment too, to cull out the hip n' happening ones.

Nowadays, exotic brassiere straps in floral designs are available separately. So, if you're the one prioritizing comfort over style, and adhering to your own brand of brassieres, then all you've to do is to whip off those unfashionable straps, and replace them with these cute ones. In fact, these straps look sexy even when they writhe out of your dress, to take a sneak peek at the world! ("Glitter" - a new fashion accessory outlet in Jayanagar 3rd block, houses these brassiere straps in a plethora of designs). If you wish, you can often be changing these straps to suit the hues on your dress.

Image enhancing
Yet another cardinal item of purchase would be an image-enhancing stylish sling bag with multi-compartments to accommodate all your personal care items including toiletries, accessories, cosmetics et al.

Now, as you're stockpiling your bag with face foundation cream, compact powder, eyeliner/mascara/shades, blush-ons, bindhi sets, and other paraphernalia, don't forget to include a mild-scented perfume, a body spray to keep the body odour at bay, fragrant hand n' body lotion, and a good overnight cream. As you're being looked at from close quarters (literally!), it's imperative to keep your skin glowing and radiant.

Even a couple of moisture-absorbent cotton napkins come handy, as also a pocket-mirror that comes with a small comb. If you're a chronic sightseer, then add to your honeymoon-shopping list, a cool bandanna that has hat-like projection. It protects your eyes, besides keeping your mane in place. Not to mention the tangible hike-up in your glam quotient! Moving towards accessories, 'moderation at its best' is the mantra here. Select such accessories, which neither look too snazzy-jazzy, nor appear too subdued. Perhaps a pair of looped earrings, or white-metal ear danglers may create the magical impact! You can sport dainty paayals, toe-rings and of course intricately fashioned bindis to flaunt your just-married status!

Regarding footwear, you can opt for comfy flip-flops that complement most outfits. That apart, putting them on would be less time-consuming, compared to those unwieldy strappy ones.
