A woman was so peeved at her husband and in-laws for forcing her to abort her foetus that she pursued a legal battle against them.
Hailing from Moga township of Punjab, Muskan was forced to abort her four-month foetus after an ultrasound test ostensibly showed the foetus to be that of a female. Later, she lodged a complaint with the police against her in-laws for forcing her to abort the foetus.

The Court of Additional District and Session Judge, Moga, held the three guilty and said that the sentence of 10 years was fit for the three family members of Muskan as they have committed a heinous crime.

Ironically the aborted female foetus later turned out to be actually that of a male child. Apparently, the ultrasound test done at a quack’s clinic had led the family to believe that the unborn baby was a female.
