The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has directed that the son of Jahnavi Kapoor alias Haya Rizvi be produced in court on June 4.
Jahnavi shot to notoriety when she slit her wrists on the day of Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding, claiming that the actor had promised her marriage.
The child Syed Ali Naqvi has to be brought to court by his grandmother Shaheena Agha, Jahnavi’s mother. Jahnavi has repeatedly denied her marriage and maintained that Ali is her step brother.
Thursday’s order came from the bench of Justice Dharamveer Sharma, who was hearing a petition filed by Jahnavi’s ex-husband Syed Kalbe Hussain Naqvi.
According to Brijesh Kumar Shukla, advocate for the petitioner, a writ of habeas corpus has been filed. “Since Jahnavi has denied she has a son, we fear for his life. She might try to get him killed to prove her claim.
Her mental condition is not such that she can be trusted with a child. So we demand that the child be handed to us.”
The petitioner had pleaded that the child was born on March 26, 1997 from his marriage with Jahnavi and the latter started living separately  since 1999.
