Deccan Herald » Assembly Elections 2008
First phase of polling smooth in 11 districts
55% polling in Blore Urban
Scorching sun and troublesome EVMs did not kill the spirit of Bangalore urban voters as they flocked to the polling booths in large numbers for the first phase. The average polling recorded was 55 per cent, which is 11 per cent higher than the BBMP area.
Booth-shy electorate unnerve leaders
The percentage of polling in Bangalore City has left many political parties disappointed. Compared to the Bangalore Rural district, which registered 72.5 per cent polling, the City registered just 44 per cent.
