Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Karnataka Ayurvedic Medical College Principal Dr Ramesh Harwalkar said that the pharmacy division will be inaugurated by AJ Institute of Dental Sciences Department of Prosthodontics Professor Dr Y Bharath Shetty while KECT President Dr Amarnath Sorake will preside.
He said that the pharmacy will release 45 classical Ayurveda products such as 21 Asavarishtas, 4 Linctus, 5 oils, 2 ghritas, 4 powders and 9 types of tablets to the market on the first phase.
He said that they also have a R&D wing which has already developed 5 patent medicines for obesity, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension and sexual disorders, which are under clinical trials.
The newly developed Ayurveda Hospital with Panchakarma and other specialities will be inaugurated by Alvas Education Trust President Dr M Mohan Alva at Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College premises in Hoige Bail, Ashoknagar on the same day. KECT Secretary Dr Jeevraj Sorake and others were present.
